A one acre woodland garden – Prospect House

This beautiful tranquil woodland space was almost totally overgrown and choked with ivy and weeds when I came across it. After four weeks of clearance and tree surgery, the removal of dead and dying trees, ivy stripped from almost every remaining tree and all the tree canopies raised, so that some dappled sunlight could at last filter through, the garden started to breathe again and come to life.

This garden is going to be simply a stunner.. winding through the woodland is an oak boardwalk which takes you on a journey… through Japanese inspired gardens, Camellia and Rhododendron walks, a wild flower glade, a grassy knoll, a jungle walk, bog valley and a fern ravine leading up to three reflecting pools linked by a babbling woodland stream. The garden is guarded by the lady of the woods… a beautiful reclining Mud Maid sculpture by Pete and Sue Hill, lying luxuriously in the wild flower glade on her sweet woodruff pillow.

Pure magic...

The Daily Telegraph decided to follow up on their ‘protegee’ (me!) and featured this garden in The Sunday Telegraph in May 2007... to read the full article click here
