A contemporary courtyard garden – Clifton Terrace

This small walled courtyard garden over three split levels created some real challenges. We created two living areas, one for dining and one with a small lawn for relaxing in, each one designed with a simple palette of materials; stunning Purbeck stone and flint, rendered walls (in low maintenance Sto render) and hardwood permanent seating benches to give a warm glow. The overall effect is a contemporary feel but with some lush ‘cottage style’ planting for a client who really loves her plants. The garden is transformed at night with clever lighting to bring the garden into the house.
