The French House

The French House is an elegant and unique new build property constructed in a French style. The garden is enclosed in part by a beautiful old wall; the design of the garden makes the most of the charm of the old wall, reflects the elegance of the house and yet incorporates a contemporary twist.

The design features two lawns – one oval lawn enclosed by a mixture of perennial and shrub planting, and one rectangular lawn slightly raised with a stainless steel edging. A woodland path winds its way through a shady glade and leads to a secret garden where a feature in the wall holds a faux ‘trompe l’oeuil’ garden gate and a window.

Two unique pergolas constructed from premium cedar and steel wires lead the eye to various focal points in the garden whilst providing scented walkways and height. Mature specimen trees provide immediate interest and screening within the garden, whilst espalier fruiting trees adorn the sunny south facing wall. Luscious planting is a feature of this garden – with some contemporary and rather striking perennial plants. A small potager and long vistas leading the eye to a number of sculptures complete this unique and elegant garden.
