The Saxon Wood School
The Saxon Wood School for children with disabilities already has delightful grounds which have been imaginatively and sensitively thought out and are beautifully maintained, having won several awards! So we felt rather honoured to have been asked to design two gardens, one garden for the youngest children in the nursery area and a second garden for all the children to enjoy.
A ‘Forest Trail’ was designed for the young children to have a bit more fun at break times. We wanted to bring smiles and giggles to their faces and so created a trail in the woodland area with adventures on the way… a ‘Wobbly Bridge’, funny mirrors, Rain chimes, Log Piles, and interactive raised planter, a den and wind chimes.
The second garden ‘ A Woodland Wonderland’ is a sensory play experience with different sensory zones… a Musical Zone, Sensory Zone, Woodland Zone, Nature Zone, and a Story telling Circle.
